Capital Alliance helps close sale of Wayne Trail Technologies to global manufacturer

DALLAS, May 16, 2012 – Capital Alliance Corp. (www.cadallas.com), a global mid-market investment banking firm, advised Wayne Trail Technologies, Fort Loramie, OH, a $55 million manufacturer of flexible automated systems for the metal forming, fabricating and joining industries, throughout the sale of the company to Lincoln Electric of Cleveland, a $3 billion supplier of welding systems and products. Wayne Trail Technologies provides robotics, welding and fixturing, laser processing systems, press automation, tube bending and fabricating systems, tubular hydroform/structural frame automation and build-to-print manufacturing services.

“Wayne Trail Technologies had grown considerably and made some innovative breakthroughs in automated metal forming over the last 50 years,” said Bob Jensen, senior vice president of Capital Alliance. “The company’s major shareholder had reached a point in his life where he was contemplating retirement. The timing was good for the company to team up with a larger global corporation.”

Capital Alliance arranged meetings between Wayne Trail Technologies and a number of suitors, including companies from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the U.S. In the end, the Lincoln Electric offer made the most sense for Wayne Trail’s shareholders. Wayne Trail became part of Lincoln Electric’s network of 45 manufacturing plants in 19 countries.
