Capital Alliance establishes business consultancy arm, hires Jim Mack

DALLAS, July 9, 2018 – Capital Alliance Corp., a middle-market investment bank, has named Jim Mack managing director and the first member of a new in-house consultancy service, Capital Alliance Consulting.

Capital Alliance Consulting will assist companies seeking expert business consultation in a variety of areas, whether or not these companies are involved in an M&A transaction.

Services will initially be focused on the human resource management industry. Services include, but aren’t limited to, strategic visioning; financial planning; operational efficiency analysis; budgeting; banking and cash management; benefit plan evaluation and design; legal structuring to address tax and liability exposure; local, state and federal tax analysis; pre-sale M&A preparation; and post-sale integration.

Mack specializes in the professional employer organizations (PEO), staffing, payroll and business services industries.

“I look forward to helping companies maximize their value while addressing business challenges,” Mack said. “My entrepreneurial background makes me especially suited, as I’ve dealt with day-to-day operational and financial issues while running several businesses.”

Mack has more than 20 years of senior management experience as a president, CFO and vice president of operations with multiple public and private HR related businesses, including AccessPoint, a regional PEO, staffing and charter school company; and Kelly Services. Mack has an extensive background in operations, banking and finance, corporate risk management, and development and implementation of strategic initiatives, including due diligence and M&A activities.

He is a member of the Accounting Practices Committee of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO) and holds a BBA from the University of Michigan.

“Jim is uniquely suited to this role as our first managing director for Capital Alliance Consulting, due to his extensive experience in the human resource management industry,” said Brad Buttermore, managing partner and CFO of Capital Alliance Corp. “Jim knows what’s involved in operating a successful business and will draw on that experience as he helps other entrepreneurs and business owners reach their goals.”

Mack will be based in the Greater Detroit area.

Mack joins the human resource management team at Capital Alliance, which includes Buttermore and HRM practice leader Neal England.

Business consulting is the most recent addition to the suite of services currently available to clients of Capital Alliance. Other services include M&A sell-side, M&A buy-side and valuation services.
