Marshall Murphy is managing director and practice leader for human resource management (HRM) at Capital Alliance Corp. He has extensive investment banking experience, including mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and private equity placements.
Marshall’s advisory experience spans more than 20 years and includes a background in the staffing, PEO, mortgage, and investment banking industries. He began his career working for leading investment banks and financial firms in New York and California.
Prior to joining Capital Alliance, Marshall led all financial, accounting, treasury, and corporate development functions for Atlanta-based Insight Global, an Ares Management portfolio company and the nation’s third largest IT staffing company, that also provides accounting, finance, engineering, and managed services offerings.
As CFO of Lender Live Holdings, he raised $10 million in equity from a major global private equity firm and raised $50 million in mortgage warehouse/MSR financing lines from leading banks. Marshall also led the $268 million IPO and all corporate development and investor relations activities for Nationstar Mortgage, a $5 billion market cap company that was privately held by Fortress Investment Group prior to the IPO.
Marshall co-founded and raised seed capital for Wilson Gordon, a specialty finance company based in Dallas and Chicago that provides factoring and business advisory services, including capital raises and business development. He began his career at Kidder Peabody and Credit Suisse in the mortgage-backed securities and financial sponsor investment banking groups.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington and Lee University and an MBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. In his spare time, Marshall enjoys attending his son’s hockey games and snow skiing.
