Before joining Capital Alliance, Tom participated in fourteen mergers as either a buyer or seller, including a single Fortune 1000 financial services company that sold three times in three years, with the final sale to CIT. His professional background includes three years in management at Tokai Bank, Japan. As Vice President of AT&T Capital, he managed medical and scientific lending in North America and trained the 1,400-member sales team at Abbott Laboratories. As a consultant, Denitech hired Tom to increase its sales in preparation for acquisition by Imagine Technology Group, and American Express chose him to package one of its operating groups for sale to Key Corp.
Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) with a Minor in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma. In 1986, when only thirty-two years old, the Wichita Falls, Texas, Board of Commerce and Industry recognized him as the “Small Business Person of the Year.” Tom proudly earned his Private Pilot’s license from Oklahoma University.
- Represented the founders of HSN, a nutraceutical company with no assets but strong cash flow, in its acquisition by the private equity group, Red Oak Capital.
- Represented Viltechmeda, a Lithuanian medical equipment manufacturer in its sale to the U.S. conglomerate, Moog, which was seeking to expand into Eastern Europe and Asia.
